Word from the bandleader

Ladies and gentlemen and all those who like me admire the music of the 1930s – 40s. Good old jazz and swing of Czech and American provenance. You are exactly the people I would like to introduce our ensemble to, the aim of which is to interpret this music in an authentic form. In September 1999 I came to the conclusion that in order to implement a live production I had to put together a band, which like me would voluntarily and happily sign on for this style of music and perform it in a systematic manner. I gradually managed to gather together a few such lovely enthusiasts and convince them of our common goal, which would trade in heart-felt enjoyment of live music, i.e. fashionably put Live Music.

Simply put: "we are happy that the generation preceding our left us with a heritage that has melody, harmony and rhythm". We thank them for this.

The Blue Star ensemble started off as a two-piece, then became a four-piece, five-piece and later six-piece outfit and now has eight to fourteen members who play at various social, private and other events. We look forward to seeing you.
